Commissioned by Arts in Libraries, and presented in partnership with Liverpool Independents Biennial, Queering the Bard is a new cabaret-performance piece that revisits the work of Shakespeare through a Queer lens.

Featuring selected texts - in particular, Shakespeare's sonnets - Phill explores the Bard's implied Queerness and proposes new ways of reading Shakespeare - that he hopes will speak to modern audiences.

Featuring live jazz-influenced music & vocals, new poetry, storytelling (and a few surprises!) Phill hopes to connect Queer culture to a wider audience and to make the great works of Shakespeare more accessible.
