On the back of the successful Turning 'Ages installation piece at Newton Le Willows Library, the artist Elaine Robinson will be delivering a one-off workshop for artists in St Helens, looking at how she devised the piece and sharing her experience of delivering high profile commissions in locations such as the House of Commons Library, and the British and Scottish Libraries.

This workshop will be especially useful for artists wanting to learn more about how to approach commission work in public spaces, as well as working in libraries and the communities that use libraries.

The workshop is free, forms part of the Arts in Libraries Teams Continuous Professional Development (CPD) strand of work. there will be free refreshments available.

Access

  • Ramp/path at the side of the building with automatic doors for accessible access.
  • No parking availability at this library.
  • There is one accessible toilet, no changing facilities are available other than a baby changing table.
  • The steps on the entrance have a yellow painted strip across and there is a side path entrance with automatic doors, there are no stairs in the library floor space other than the basement which is not in use for members of the public and furniture is spaced out to accommodate mobility chairs, we offer seating around the library and staff are able to assist customers should they require.
  • Outdoors space that leads from the children's area into a small yard, this is also accessible.

  • No onsite parking available 
  • The nearest Train Station is Earlestown, 10 minutes walk from the library
