Led by prize-winning poet Kevin Dyer.

We'll do some rhyming, and some not-rhyming, talk about rhythm and how to avoid clichee.

We will write NEW poems, about lots of different things. We will laugh, eat cake, drink tea, and spend time with other creative people.

Just bring a pen and a sense of literary adventure. And a special guest will perform a poem to inspire us.

Any questions, contact kevindyer@sthelens.gov.uk

Image : William Blake's The First Book of Urizen (1794), this striking colour relief etching shows Urizen—Blake's tyrannical creator god—carrying a glowing red orb past a lion.

Blake (1757-1827) was a poet, painter, and printmaker whose imagination knew no bounds. His "illuminated books" combined poetry and hand-coloured prints to explore themes of spirituality, rebellion, and mythology.

Though overlooked in his lifetime, Blake's radical ideas and unique printing techniques have made him one of the most influential figures in British art and literature.
